During a long trip like this you will wear out or break equipment. This is natural and expected because of the long usage time. What is not expected, is equipment breaking after a short period of time, for now good reason. Today the aluminium frame of Jan’s backpack broke during a casual walk. No abnormal … Continue reading Broken equipment
Bonfire and aurora
The winter is slowly creeping lower and lower down the mountains. We have therefore decided to change our route and go lower and closer to the coast. This way we can continue by foot for much longer. In the lowlands there are more forest roads, which is handy if there should come a lot of … Continue reading Bonfire and aurora
Another mining town
The weather has improved enough for us to continue northward and our next destination is Skorovatn. Skorovatn is an old mining town, just like Knaben, that we visited earlier this year (Read the blog post here). The mine was active from 1952 until 1984. In the earlier years the extraction of pyrite was the main … Continue reading Another mining town
Making Bounty
We have been stuck in Nordli for well over a week now, waiting for the weather to change. But no worries, we have plenty of time and it's also nice to relax a little. We have no shortage of things to do anyway. We are updating our blogs, hunting, hiking and making awesome food. Today … Continue reading Making Bounty
Winter has come
The winter has really kicked in the last couple of days, and we have decided to extend our stay in Nordli until the weather changes. Here in the lowlands there is not much snow, but over the mountain passes there is now a fair bit of snow. It is too early to start using our … Continue reading Winter has come
Norwegian hospitality

We are going go stay here for a few days and charge our batteries a bit, before we continue. When we arrived at our cabin, we were greeted by fresh … Continue reading Norwegian hospitality
Land of the sami people
We have now nearly crossed Blåfjella–Skjækerfjella National Park and we are so lucky with the weather, only one day of really bad weather for the last week. For the most part we have had sunny blue skies and nice temperatures. We can feel the onset of winter, cause every day after sunset the temperature goes … Continue reading Land of the sami people
Hunting our own dinner
Finally, after many weeks we can try some hunting! Jon Vegar (friend of Anders) is joining us for a few days of hunting. We are using a DNT cabin as base while we go hunting around the terrain. Both Jan and Anders have never hunted before but they both got lucky and got to shot … Continue reading Hunting our own dinner
The center of Norway
We are well within Blåfjella–Skjækerfjella National Park and today we arrived at a bog in the middle of nowhere. This is not any old bog, in this bog you will find the geographical center of Norway. Not the most spectacular place, but it is yet another milestone achievement for us!
Going north
It’s been many months since we really made any progress northwards, but now we are walking straight north and making good progress. The weather is relatively good and we can’t complain much since it’s late autumn and things could be much worse. The winter showed itself for a day or two, but the snow disappeared … Continue reading Going north
