All around Hellesylt there are plenty of great hiking opportunities, both challenging and easy. One of the easiest hiking opportunities here is Flofjellet mountain pass. Not only is it the easiest, it’s also great in terms of scenery and nature. The work on the road throughthe mountain pass was started in 1887 and when it opened it served as an important rout for transporting goods, livestockand tourists. The road has never been upgraded after it first was made and it has steadily been degrading over the years. But it is a perfect place to go for a short or longer walk and it is almost completely flat.
