As Norwegians, Jan and Anders have seen or knows how different the Norwegian landscape can be. But even they were surprised by the landscape we now were entering. Knutshø conservation area is a mystical highland with seters (summer mountain pastures) situated throughout the area. The landscape is covered in turquoise reindeer moss and almost no high growing vegetation. Some places it seems that the reindeer moss covers 70 % of the landscape, making the autumn colours in the rest of the low growing vegetation stand out crisp and brightly. The whole time we have this strange feeling of not being in Norway, this is how mystical and surprising this place is, even for a Norwegian!
